What kinds of notices can I import?+
You can import photos, screenshots, and PDFs from Photos, Files, Camera, or Share from other apps.
How do I turn a notice into a plan?+
Import the document, compare the extraction with the source, correct fields, and assign the notice to a profile or leave it unassigned. Then save its dates, tasks, and actions.
Are my notices or photos sent to the cloud?+
No. OCR, extraction, review, and storage in the core flow happen on the device. RevenueCat receives only technical data needed for purchases; it does not receive notices, photos, PDFs, or OCR results.
Do I need an account or personal child data?+
You do not need an account. Profiles are optional and only need the display name or family label you choose. Date of birth, address, medical data, and school ID are not requested.
Does it work offline?+
The core capture, OCR, extraction, review, and save flow is local and can be used offline. Purchases and system services such as Calendar or Reminders depend on Apple and your device settings.
Does data sync across my devices?+
Not currently. Cross-device sync and a shared family workspace are not enabled; saved data remains on the device where it was imported.
Can I rely on extracted dates?+
Confidence and evidence help with review, but OCR can be wrong, especially with blurry images, handwriting, or complex layouts. Always check dates and deadlines against the original.
Can one notice include more than one date or task?+
Yes. A notice can store multiple dates, deadlines, checklist items, and actions linked to their source.
Does SchoolSnap assign notices to a child automatically?+
No. You choose a profile manually or leave the notice unassigned. SchoolSnap never guesses the assignment.
What is included in the free plan?+
It includes up to 5 active saved notices and 1 child profile, along with capture and review. SchoolSnap Plus removes the notice cap and supports multiple profiles.
Which languages does OCR recognize?+
OCR in the current flow is configured for English and Spanish. Results can vary by document, so review recognized text before saving.
Does advanced extraction work on every device?+
No. It is an optional SchoolSnap Plus feature that depends on iOS version and local model support. Deterministic extraction remains available when the model is unsupported.
Does it create events or reminders automatically?+
No. Review each action and confirm if you want to add it to Calendar or Reminders. Permissions are requested when you use each feature.
What happens to document copies?+
You can choose whether SchoolSnap keeps no source copy, a thumbnail, or the original in its storage. Deleting the notice or uninstalling the app does not remove an original that remains in Photos or Files.
Can I import notices automatically from email or a school portal?+
No. There is no direct connection to email, school portals, or school systems. Import the file or image you receive through Photos, Files, Camera, or Share.
Where can I check the price, cancel, or restore Plus?+
Apple shows the price and territory terms before purchase. Manage or cancel in Settings > your name > Subscriptions. To restore, use Restore Purchases in SchoolSnap with the same Apple Account; deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
